Muah Chee is a well-loved street snack in Singapore and Malaysia which is similar to Japanese and Korean mochi but softer and stickier in texture. Served with roasted ground peanuts and a sprinkling of sugar, it is a crowd favorite at the pasar malam (night market)!

Sugar 2 Tbsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Water 1 cup
Cooking oil 1 Tbsp (you may use 3/4 Tbsp cooking oil + 1/4 Tbsp sesame oil)
Topping:
Roasted ground peanuts 1/2 cup
Roasted sesame seeds 1 Tbsp (optional)
Sugar 2 Tbsps
In a medium bowl, mix topping ingredients together and set aside.
In a microwavable bowl or plate, mix well all the ingredients to form a smooth batter.
Cover and microwave for 1 min. Remove and stir well with a spatula.
Repeat 3 more times until you get a sticky and smooth cooked dough.
Place dough into the bowl with peanut mixture. Cut into bite size pieces and coat well with the peanut mixture.
Serve immediately.
