Easy, Crusty Homemade Artisan Bread. I've made this many times and the recipe has never failed me. My family do not like sourdough bread but they do enjoy a good crusty bread which is soft and airy on the inside so this recipe if perfect for us. There is no need for overnight rise and it's ready in just a few hours.
I baked this in the largest Corningware casserole pot which was handed down to me by my mum but you can use a Dutch oven to make it as well.
Recipe from Life as a Strawberry.
Ingredients:
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (9 grams)
1 teaspoon sugar (4 grams) (use honey if you prefer)
1 ¼ cups warm water (300 grams)
1 ¼ teaspoons (8 grams) kosher salt
2 ½ to 3 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour (400 grams) plus extra for dusting
Mum's vintage Corningware from the 1970's still serving me well.
