French Apple Cake

This is my new favorite Apple Cake recipe. The blend of delicious tender apples and brandy makes this cake so luscious, tasty and so so good!

Ingredients: (Makes two 8" cakes)

225g Butter

3/4 cup Sugar

3 tsp Vanilla Extract

4 Eggs

1 Tbsp Brandy

2 cups All Purpose Flour

2 tsp Baking Powder

4 tsp Salt

4 Apples (peeled and chopped)

3 Tbsp Sugar for sprinkling over cake


1. Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Oil & line two 8" cake tins.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder & salt.

3. Beat butter & sugar till light and fluffy

4. Add eggs, one at a time & continue beating till creamy. Add vanilla.

5. Add dry ingredients then the brandy.

6. Fold in chopped apples.

7. Divide batter evenly into prepared cake tins

& smooth the tops.

8. Sprinkle with sugar and bake for 40 mins.

9. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before slicing & serving.
