Ingredients (serves 8)
All-purpose flour 2 cups
Baking powder 2 tsp
Baking soda 1/4 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Sugar 2 Tbsp
Unsalted butter, cold 75 g
Milk 80 ml
Sour cream 115 g
Strawberries, chopped 1 cup
Zest of 1 lemon
Poppy seeds 1-2 Tbsps
Drizzle:
Powdered sugar 3 Tbsp Lemon juice

1. Chop strawberries and pre-heat the oven to 210Ā°C.
2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
3. Rub in butter until mixture resemble breadcrumbs.
4. Stir in strawberries, poppy seeds and lemon zest.
5. Combine milk and sour cream in a measuring jug.
6. Pour into the flour-strawberry mixture and mix with a spoon till a sticky dough is formed.
7. Transfer onto a lightly floured surface and pat into a 7-8 inch circle.
8. Cut into 8 wedges and transfer to a lined baking tray.
9. Bake for 15 mins.
10. Remove and cool completely on a rack.
11. Prepare drizzle - in a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and lemon juice together.
12. Drizzle over scones and allow to set.
